Texas has adopted a variant of the 1968 version of the Uniform Anatomical Gift Act. This variant is based on the 1968 Act but has some additional ways to make an anatomical gift.

Texas law allows anatomical gift forms including the use of your driver's license or state idendification card, or you may prepare a document of gift, such as the one provided on this website.

An anatomical gift document must be witnessed by two competent witnesses; and, only takes effect after your death.

You can give all or only specified parts of your body, such as the corneas, heart, kidneys, lungs, etc.

With some restrictions, you may specify who will receive your donation. You should contact any recipient you select to make certain they can make appropriate use of your gift of life. If a specified recipient does not accept a donation, it may be go to your attending physician or any person or organization authorized by law to receive anatomical gifts.
